Manufactured by GE Appliances, the Shabbos Keeper is the most advanced Shabbos keeping device of its kind. With the entire Jewish calendar built inside, it will automatically set your appliance to Shabbos mode each week and every Yom Tov, and also set it back to weekday mode after Shabbos.
Using an Enhanced Shabbos Mode (EHM) the Shabbos Keeper fully automates the compressor, auto-defrost, lights, sensors, thermistors and more!

Automatic Shabbos Activation
- The Shabbos Keeper is simple to set up on more than 150 GE Appliances French-Door Bottom Freezer, Full-Door Bottom Freezer, and Side by Side refrigerator models.
- Once set, it is programmed to automatically enter Enhanced Shabbos Mode 90 minutes before sunset Friday evening (to account for early Shabbos) and then revert back to weekday mode 90 minutes after sunset on Saturday night
Interior Lighting
- Interior lights stay on at reduced brightness during Shabbos Keeper Sabbath Mode.
Automatic Defrost
- In some older Sabbath modes, the defrost system activates based on compressor run time. This means user input is used when activating the heaters. In Enhanced Sabbath mode, the defrost is set to automatically activate every few hours, with no user input.
Compressor and Cooling Systems
- In regular Shabbos modes, sensors detect usage patterns and subsequently activate the cooling features with a 20 second delay. This is not significant in Jewish Law. Enhanced Shabbos mode uses a unique time-controlled system developed by Zman Technologies
Door Switches and Sensors

Open the Oven Door at Anytime
- Access the oven door freely at any moment. This unprecedented capability, previously unavailable in GE ovens, is particularly significant during Shabbos and Yom Tov, where the oven door can be opened even while the oven is in operation.
Fully Automated
- Every week and prior to each Yom Tov, the Shabbos Keeper for the Oven will prompt you to confirm Shabbos or early Shabbos to be set.
- Once confirmed, continue cooking until Shabbos or Yom Tov begins, and the oven will transition into Shabbos mode at the candle lighting.
- Additionally, it seamlessly switches between Shabbos and Yom Tov modes as needed. In cases where Shabbos and Yom Tov coincide, Shabbos mode will consistently take precedence.
Warm Temperatures for Shabbos Cooking and Warm Temperatures for Yom Tov
- The Shabbos Keeper has 2 modes for Shabbos and Yom Tov. During Shabbos, the oven will enter an automatic warm Temperature. The warm mode is set at around 200 degrees Fahrenheit, varying from oven to oven.
- On Yom Tov, it will seamlessly alternate between warm and bake schedules.
- Cooking temperature is set at a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, allowing you to prepare fresh Yom Tov meals effortlessly.
Lights, Buttons, Door Switches and Sensors
- Disables all sensors, alerts, lights, buttons, and safety shut-off features, ensuring complete functionality. Tested and certified 100% kosher.
