In the midst of the Great Depression, two aggressive young men emerged with two new products that would make major contributions to the housing industry. In 1932, Henry Broan developed and manufactured a kitchen fan called the Motordor Fan that provided quiet and efficient kitchen ventilation. His creation launched what is today known as Broan-NuTone LLC. Four years later, in 1936, J. Ralph Corbett developed a melodious door chime replacing the obnoxious door buzzer of the time. His development launched what is today known as NuTone, Inc.

This wasn't my first choice for our newly designed kitchen but I have to say it looks great. Pulls everything out of the air more efficiently than any other vent hood I've ever had. It's a bit louder than I expected but not a problem. Did pay more than I wanted to but couldn't find another decent vent hood any cheaper.

I bought this range hood to replace a new one that did not work good enough. When I stir fried on my Bluestar Gas Stove the whole house filled up with smoke and grease even though my hood was on high. I knew I needed something way more powerful. So I purchased this Broan just hoping it would work better. I was also hoping it would work without the need for hearing protectors. To my surprise it works great. I can stir fry on the front burner and it sucks up all the smoke. It's loud, but not as bad as the one that I replaced. With the variable control I can turn it down to just a quiet whisper.
