Web Analyst

The AJ Madison team is seeking a talented, dynamic and self-directed Web Analyst with a quantitative background who is able to critically and creatively think through business objectives to solve problems using technical skills and thinking as the ecommerce customer to extract data points. Every day projects include measuring site performance, analyzing customer behavior and trends, creating dashboards, data mining, optimizing SQL queries, working with cutting edge technology and multi-terabyte datasets. Team focuses on various verticals (such as Onsite Search, Homepage, Checkout) to go deep into the data collected to continuously improve the customer experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Consult with internal business users/stakeholders in the Merchandising, Marketing and Product Management teams to develop analyses that lead to actionable insights that accelerate profitable growth
• Understand how an ecommerce site works to be able to perform comprehensive analysis; must be an expert in GA
• Ability to comprehend, extract, and massage necessary information from clickstream data for ad-hoc and reporting/dashboards needs
• Perform deep dive analysis into consumer behavior on the site, ranging from pathing, funnel analysis to product interaction, to identify pain points within the online experience and then share results
• Ensure data quality by testing tracking on site so metrics are properly captured and reported correctly
• Familiar with concept of A/B testing to consult with stakeholders, set-up test and report out on findings to make educated and calculated changes to the website in a low-risk manner
• Wrangle data from multiple sources including sales, clickstream, product, and customer databases to create integrated views that can be used to drive decision making
• Working with our large and complex SQL databases
• Designing and building reports, dashboards, and analyses in Excel, Python, SQL, and Tableau


• BA/BS with strong academic record, ideally in Economics, a quantitative social science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics etc.
• 2-5 years of experience in a quantitative role within an Ecommerce organization
• Google Analytics certified expert user
• Experience with Excel (pivot tables etc. ), SQL, Tableau
• Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
• Self starter, entrepreneurial and driven by results
• Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems

UX Designer

As AJ Madison’s UX Designer you will play a key role in defining the UX and visual design elements for the website. You will work collaboratively with product owners and technology leads in an agile, fast paced environment. You will help drive user experience insights and ultimately translate those into wireframes, designs, prototypes, and actual products. You will bring your experience with design patterns for desktop and mobile products to bear as you apply best practices and advocate for changes or improvements in design.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Drive user experience and interface design across multiple products for web and mobile platforms;
• Collaborate with product and technical team members in the creation of digital products;
• Advocate for the end user, always seeking ways to improve and innovate;
• Conduct and participate in user experience research;
• Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate and test user needs and proposed solutions


• Prior Ecommerce experience;
• 5+ years in digital User Experience and Interface design;
• A great eye and a passion for customer-centric design;
• A stellar portfolio of digital work;
• Experience with B2C design and iteration, preferably in an agile development environment;
• Knowledge of standard tools for wire framing and prototyping;
• Experience building fully responsive sites or applications;
• Experience with usability studies;
• Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work in fast moving environments with ambiguity;
• Degree in design or related field a plus;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
• Highly organized;
• Drive to get things done quickly
