Great heat, great features, love this grill !!except..... the grease tray and lower compartment fills with water after rain....you could cover this grill after every use however if it rains while cooking and you can't cover a 400 degree grill you run the risk of rain water filling the grease tray and overflowing onto the compartment shelve and onto your deck floor.....grease stains and doesn't look good
I am so far very pleased with the Summit grill. It is a very nice grill and it heats up very fast. I did note a broken thermometer on the grill. The dial won't adjust as the grill heats up. I am awaiting a replacement from Weber.
[...] I can preheat the thing to 700 degrees in about 10 minutes with all of the burners turned on. I did switch to natural gas, which is much more convenient and I haven't seem to have the problem described with the propane. Additionally, the four burner design is far superior, giving an even field of heat across the entire surface. My first big job on it was about a week after I got it (time to show it off). I invited some of the fellas over for ribs. About 10 of us. I cooked six full slabs of baby back ribs all at once. They covered the entire grill completely. No sweat. They came out fantastic because of the easily controllable heat. This is not something my other Weber could have handled. One of the guys has a really high end Dacor Grill that costs over twice as much. He was the first to admit the Weber easily outperforms his.I have had a great time and many successful grilling adventures since.Only one very minor complaint, which is mixed. This Weber is a HOT grill. It can be a little hard to get a real low heat (200 - 250). I do it by using just the far right burner under the smoker set on low. However, that being said, I would much rather work with a grill that runs a little hot than too cool. After all, were coooking with fire aren't we! And who isn't used to heat in Redding, CA.Overall, nothing but love for it!
