I purchased this in 2008 when our free-standing range ignited itself while preheating and burned out. While briefly entertaining we came to the conclusion that the auto-immolate feature was undesirable and opted for something new.
I replaced the free-standing range with this wall oven and a separate cooktop.
The oven is awesome. I really like it. Aesthetically and ergonomically it is near perfect. The dial controls have a substantial feel and smooth, well-damped action. It has all of the features we use regularly (bake, convection bake, hi/lo broil, proof, timers) without all the extra dross that gets in the way of actual cooking. The dials in particular make setting and changing temp quick and intuitive.
Functionally, the oven is solid and reliable. The full-extension ball-bearing slide racks are a real help although they are heavier to take in and out than a plain wire rack. We usually leave them all in; the oven is big enough that we only have to remove shelves for a big turkey a few times a year. I like the lighting; they've done a good job of covering the entire interior sufficiently although you do have to keep the inside of the glass clean if you want to be able to check done-ness of baked goods effectively.
The oven gets up to temperature quickly for a full-sized oven and holds it well without the door getting hot. Convection bake for cookies is perfect...I've done three pans at a time on three different shelves and they all turn out right. The porcelain interior is easy to clean, although we do not need to clean it often.
We have used this for over four years now and it works and looks new. The design seems so simple and solid that I expect it will last for a very long time.
I would only wish for one thing: an identically styled 24" model. The 30" is great but we so rarely need the full capacity that I would rather have two smaller ovens than the one large one.
