Decided on the 18 inch Monogram for total rehab of my tiny kitchen. Choose GE mainly for price--I really didn't want to spend another $800+ for the higher end German brands. So far, I am extremely happy with the performance of this machine. It's very quiet and the dishes come out sparkling clean. I did not get to see the Monogram in person--had to order it blindly and hoped for the best. The only thing I'm disappointed in is the higher than normal kickplate. As far as I can tell, most 18" dishwashers have a shorter door than the 24" models, which results in a taller kickplate. It's very noticeable and doesn't look quite right. I'm still trying to figure out how to remedy this.
Also, right out of the box, the stainless front panel was dented, but luckily had a 30 day cosmetic warranty through the appliance store where I purchased machine and was replaced. I really doubted my decision to go with GE after reading many negative reviews, but so far I am very satisfied with the Monogram.
