I chose this hood because it has a very simple, sleek appearance and also because it is one of the most inexpensive hoods I found. I now know why it is so inexpensive. All the components behind the stainless steel are cheap plastic. If you need to purchase the recirculating kit, be aware that you have to cut the exhaust components yourself to fit the chimney attachment. If you cut it a little to small, it will not fit properly and you will not be able to properly mount it. The instructions are far worse than Ikea instructions. Literally. The included halogen bulbs burned out after the second day, not kidding. Make sure your cabinets go up after you mount this beast. That was our mistake. It looks nice but I am horrified at the cheap materials used for the internal components. The carbon filter that was included had some broken pieces and there were little carbon pellets everywhere. The chimney attachment is also in two pieces so it looks less than stellar. Overall, it is a nightmare to put up if you have no experience. Internal materials are cheap and you have to do it yourself. No mounting hardware comes with it so read the manual online before it arrives so you can have the materials ahead of time. If purchasing the recirculating kit, be careful not to cut it too short. The kit does not include the exhaust hose and clamps.
