Help protect the clothes in your closet from wear and tear and keep them looking great with a washer that provides the best care for your clothes. The Clean Care cycle uses cold water to wash like a warm water cycle helping protect fabrics from color fading and bleeding. A 4.6 cu. ft. capacity offers room for 3 baskets of laundry in a single load yet handles small loads efficiently. In fact, whether you do large or small loads this ENERGY STAR qualified and CEE Tier 3 rated can help you save over $2,100 in lifetime water and energy costs. Specialty wash cycles for sheets, whites and even active wear offer additional care options for the things you need to clean.

Why you'll love it...

Product Reviews
Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 178 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Looks great, poor performance My mother-in-law and I sat there and watched the entire cycle-there is a nice drum light just for this purpose. This washer is sleek and looks very snazzy, but the functional design is ridiculous. The agitator only agitates items directly up against it and does not circulate the clothes efficiently. Some items get in the middle and get the dickens scrubbed out of them; others barely move, being stuck against the side of the drum. If this washer cleaned well I'd have no issues with it at all. I'd happily put up with the noise, which I do not find excessive. However, as is half the clothes come out almost knotted, the other half have merely been partially submerged (due to eco-effecient operations) in soapy water. 6/22/12
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love my new Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8800YW. Love this machine and matching dryer!! I replaced a 15 year old high efficiency front load (Maytag Neptune) with this machine. My husband hated the old machine because it was so noisy. I did not like that there was water always standing in the machine. My sister in law said that she loved her Whirlpool Cabrio so I checked it out. The reviews were so much better than the front loading reviews I read. I liked that it was large capacity. Well, I have had my machine for 3 weeks now and love it! I especially like the different cycles. The active wear cycle works so well on my husband's "under armour" and similar work-out clothes, getting them cleaner but in a gentler cycle. I like the sheets and towels cycles. I used the bulky items cycle for my two cat beds. They came out so much better than before. I also use and like the delicate and quick cycles. I'm still trying the dryer cycles to get the best results. My old dryer was so bad that it over-dryed most items even on delicate. My new dryer is under-drying because I keep playing with settings to prevent over drying and wrinkles on the delicate and casual cycles. The sheet and towel cycles work wonderfully though. I didn't think that I could be so happy over a washer and dryer. They exceeded my expectations. 8/20/12
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love Love Love Love this washer! This is my first HE washer and I couldn't have made a better choice. There are alot of brands on the market and this one seemed the best option for us on paper. I can honestly say that not only did it live up to our expectations but it also exceeded them! What took our old washer to do 3 loads, took our new washer to do 1 load! So ultimately it saves time and money!!! I love the option to clean the washer which is reccomended every 30 washes. I love the see through glass and the slow close lids. I can't tell you how many times my 3 year old has shut his fingers in our old washer. It is amazingly quiet. It makes the most noise when the water is draining (probably due to our drain hookup#. Some cons, You must buy only HE detergent #as with all HE washers#, the drain pipe must be atleast 39 inches off the ground #we did not know this until trying to install the washer into our floor drain pipe), and it seems to take a little longer to wash a load of clothes than the old school washers took. The prices were all around comparable. Always remember the saying "You get what you pay for!". 1/19/12
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product My new Cabrio does a great job in washing the clothes. I love the big drum in anticipation of washing 3 sets of sheets in it without having to do 2 loads. If I only want to wash a small load of tea towels and a couple of dish cloths and use bleach to get them clean, the quick wash seems to be the setting to use; along with "light, fast, hot". However, the timing for doing just a very small load such as this, is past 25 minutes. When I called chat to ask 2 questions, and they were prompt in responding and answering curteously, 1# can we adjust the timing, and 2# can I use bleash in this particular cycle, I was told you CANNOT adjust the timing on this maching because it is preset by the factory, and that I CAN use bleach in this cycle. I agree with some others about how long it takes to wash a load of clothes but given the fact that it is a high efficency machine using less water, it would make sense that it would take more time to agitate the clothes with less water and lower suds to get them clean. I did buy the dryer mate for this washer and I love it. You can choose whatever cycle you want and it even has a button to adjust timing for drying. I would suggest reading all the directions for this top loading washing machine, #especially in doing the Afresh cycle and loading the machine#, and use them appropiately and you will have great results. *The instructions say that you may use bleach in place of the Afresh for subsquent cleanings of your washer but the first time around there is an Afresh tablet that comes with the machine and I would highly suggest using it. It's to rid the machine of any manufacturing grease in the machine. And if I am not mistaken, there is probably some water left over underneath where you can't see it or get it out and so I highly advise doing the Afresh or bleach cleaning after every 30 washings like it says. How do I know this? Because if you read the entire booklet it tells you to winterize this washing machine and put antifreeze in it and like do just water type of wash, #like you would if you were doing an Afresh cycle#, so if the machine will be left in a cold spot for a long period of time without use during the winter, water won't ice up is what I am thinking, and ruin the washing machine. So this tells me that there will always be water in it. And is you don't use the Afresh tablet or bleach in it every 30 washes, your washer will smell funky. You want the bottom underneath part that you CAN'T see to be just as clean as the parts you can see, otherwise your clothes with smell funky too. It's just makes sense if you think about it. And make sure that if you don't have enough time to do all your laundry in one day, to break it up and do your whites on one day, darks on another and your mixed on another, otherwise you could be up all night donig your wash like I was last night. I will say that Whirlpool manufactures their products to last and to perform well. In spite of having long times to wash w/o being able to adjust timing, I am sure that my Whirlpool will give my excellent performance and satisfaction for many years to come. 8/17/12
