If I have a couple of pots simmering and it gets a little hot the fan kick's on and helps control the heat! 3/11/13
Rated 4 out of 5 by Darned good for the price I braised a leg of lamb the other day -- which you start by searing on high heat on stove top, fat popping all over the place. Ran the fan and by the time the meat was off the burner and in the oven, smell of grease and smoke had completely disappeared. It's loud, and it automatically turns itself on when it senses a bunch of heat from the stove (which is startling), but I'm very happy with it. 1/23/13
Rated 4 out of 5 Good Hood For the money this is a good quality hood. I would have got a more powerful CFM unit in hindsight. The first three low settings of the unit cant even suck up a paper towel. I basically use the highest setting for normal cooking. 1/8/13
