So, I was really worried switching from a full depth fridge to this counter depth. Boy was I surprised when I had MORE usable space in this counter depth fridge then my old Kitchenaid! Refrigerator door shelves are nice and deep. Plenty of shelves to stack things. Fruit/Vegi drawers on small side but I don't "stock up" on the fresh foods so there is plenty of room for me and my family of five. Freezer is the same. Ice dispenser took some time to adjust to. You have to push kind of hard to get the water and ice out--hubby doesn't like that but it doesn't bother me. Fridge looks nice too. Delivery men were extremely rude and not helpful at all.

I purchased a Whirlpool WRS965CIAE00 refrigerator on May 1. It was delivered and installed as promised, but after 24 hours it had not made any ice, and the icemaker overflowed and flooded the floor. I called and Whirlpool had a serviceman out the next business day. He determined that a part was needed, but it took five days to arrive. After replacing this part, the icemaker still didn’t work, the serviceman returned, and with the help of Whirlpool tech support, found that two different parts were needed. These took three days to arrive. After replacing these parts, the icemaker still didn’t work, so Whirlpool sent a new icemaker. The repairman installed it, and still no ice. I called Whirlpool to ask for a replacement refrigerator, and their response was to have a second repair company try, but that it would be ten days before the second company could schedule an appointment. I called the retailer where I had purchased the refrigerator, and in less than a minute, they agreed to replace the defective refrigerator. Whirlpool has a good reputation for reliability, but their response to a failure is unacceptable. It’s not that things go wrong, because they will. It’s what you do when things go wrong, and Whirlpool did not seem to care or believe that their refrigerator had a problem.

We have owned this refrigerator about four months, upon the completion of our custom built home. We had specified Whirlpool's best Gold appliances throughout. As a 40 year career as buyer of appliances for a major company, I was familiar with Whirlpool's sterling reputation. This unit did not fail my expectations. It is well planned, and my wife loves the many blue LED lights throughout the interior, that fade on and off upon opening and closing. The unit is very quiet, with the exception of the dumping of freshly made ice. We are used to in now, and ignore it, but it was shocking at first. The touchpad settings and real temperature degrees are a great feature. All in all, after being around almost all counter depth side by sides, I still feel this is the best unit currently on the market.
