Rated 1 out of 5 Bad Choice Despite all the research that I did before choosing this oven/microwave, I am very disappointed in the product for a variety of reasons. The touch panel requires a lot of finger pressure to activate each of the "buttons", and you have to make too many selections to get to the simple cooking or defrosting commang that you want to input. This is particularly annoying if you have long fingernails. My unit arrived with a faulty microwave light, which although repaired under warranty, required two repair appointments and was a very big job. Not customer replaceable, and very expensive! The electric oven takes a very long time to pre-heat, but seems to cook well. The appearance of the unit also leaves a lot to be desired. From a few feet away, the glass in the upper and lower doors is a different color. The two doors are framed in such a way that there is a gap all around the doors of about 1 inch between the door frame and the kitchen cabinet. This gap also extends about 1 inch behind the doors. Really cheapens the look and feel of the unit. On the plus side, the oven and microwave are quite spacious, but the microwave could really stand to be more powerful. This unit replaced a GE Profile unit when we remodeled the kitchen. The 10 year old GE was a much better performer (all around), but unfortunately we didn't like the look of the stainless GE. One last general comment. The microwave door on this unit opens downward. This makes sense because of the large capacity of the microwave, and the resulting width of the door. We had some choice about how high to mount the unit in our wall cabinet. We made the decision based on how it would look, but we mounted it a little high. If you're not tall, when the door is open it becomes an obstacle, and also the controls are a little inconvenient when mounted high. Not Whirlpool's fault, and not a design issue, just something for the homeowner to consider when installing. Hope all this helps. 1/11/13
