The oven is ok, works properly and looks nice, is a little more noisy than the old one, but is not a big deal.

Our first impression upon getting this out of the box was that the trim kit looked and felt very cheap and flimsy. The microwave although it is supposed to be the same wattage as my previous microwave takes an average of 25%-35% more time to cook. Most of all within 3 weeks the door started malfunctioning, and sometimes doesn't open at all. Very poor quality. Would never buy again. We've had 2 Whirlpool microwaves in 2 years. The first lasted only 1 year, this one already having problems. Will never buy Whirlpool again.

I've purchased 9 microwaves over 30 years for lots of different locations including my personal dwellings. I prefer Sharp and Kenmore for durability, long life and ease of use (control panel). Needed a new one for a built-in condition to replace a 28 year old unit at my parent's home and this unit had a built-in kit that was available for purchase so we decided to try it. It's a nice unit and works very well. The controls are not as easy to use or intuitive as the Sharp and Kenmore models but other than that it seems to be comparable. The built-in kit leaves a bit to be desired with respect to the fit - lots of gaps around the oven where food/trash/dust can fall in or collect and would be difficult to remove. If you're buying for a countertop setting this would not be an issue. Unit works well so far.

I have been using this microwave for over several weeks and so far, I really like it. My initial test was to cook a full sized frozen lasagna. I used the two-stage cooking feature and results were perfect. The lasagna looked and tasted as if it were cooked in the oven.
Family members like the programmable potato setting and pizza warm up features. They work like a charm and deliver perfect results because they power levels are programmed specifically for these.
My reason for buying the Whirlpool WMC30516A was to match my new stainless steel Whirlpool Gold appliances. I believe you can get a better microwave in the counter top models rather than built-in. The power levels are high and features are more user friendly.
The stainless match up is good from the front but I am dismayed that the sides and top of the microwave are finished in black. I would prefer to have it full stainless and I would pay more to get this. Otherwise, I would prefer white top and sides over black in order to brighten up the kitchen.
Overall, the unit works like a charm but the description or picture should show that the sides and top are black when you order the stainless steel version.
