Purchased new, used 2-3 loads per week (family of four). At 15 months, the washer failed. Whirlpool tech visit cost $90, diagnosed a failed motor controller and internal water leak. Minimum estimate to repair (order a new controller unit and replace) is $490, plus additional for repairing the water leak (once the washer is running again.) Whirlpool said this falls outside the 12month warranty so none of it is covered. Time for a new brand of washer!

I purchased this machine almost two years ago. The unit bangs loudly at the spin cycle. The repair guy said do not fix this its too big job just buy a new one.????

This machine is like the old dishwashers......your cloths have to be clean before you put them in. This machine doesn't clean cloths. It puts about 1 cup of water per load, and you just can't get kids cloths clean with 1 cup of water. I'll never buy another front end loader. Everyone that voted this as a good machine, needs to check elsewhere, like Amazon on what an awful job it does. If you have a spot on anything, you had better use 1/2 bottle of Shout and scrub on a washboard befor putting in the machine, or it will still be there.

Best product out there for the money! Consumer reports # 1 rating. Easy to use, efficient, sturdy. Front loading a must! Will last forever!
