This was the worst purchase I made during a 45k kitchen remodel. I thought I was being smart and value contious by ordering this fridge for 700 bucks from AJ Madison. When the unit arrived it didn't work. The beverage side wouldn't cool past 55 degrees, when it was supposed to go down to 34 degrees. It took the repair company 4 weeks to get it fixed because the compressors from Avanti were on back order. That "new compressor" lasted for not even a year. While it was working, it was loud and ran constantly. When I called Avanti back 10 months after the original repair, they said I was out of luck, because I was out of warranty. The repair company said that Avanti products are poor and that I should throw it away and get a ULine or Marvel. They said this even though it cost them a sale. I think that is saying something in this economic environment. I have since ordered a ULine and will let you know how that does, so far so good. The only thing I can say good about the unit is that it is very attractive.

I am on my third Avanti beverage center. We bought this particular unit because it has the option to cool wine and beer at two different temperatures. Many have dual temperatures but not cold enough for beer. Our first one was noisy and worked for about 6 months and then started to lose temperature. Called for service and the freon was leaking and it could not be fixed, had to be replaced. Had to go through a bit of an ordeal to get another one shipped out in addition to paying $75 shipping charges for the second unit. Not to mention having to take a day off of work to wait for the unit. Got the second unit and hooked it up to find that it is even noiser and does not keep the temperature at all.. Called for service again and the problem is there is not enough freon for it to run. That is why it is so loud as the compressor is constantly running to try and meet the desired temperature but without freon it will never meet the desired temperature. Once again the unit is not repairable and must be replaced. Which means another $75 shipping charge and another vacation day from work to sit at home and wait for the delivery. Luckily I did read the reviews before I purchased it and read some problem stories so I bought the 5 year extended warranty. Haven't even gotten past the one year Avanti warranty as they keep breaking before we have them a year. For what I am paying in shipping charges ($225 - $75 three times) and losing in vacation days (working on 3 vacation days now) this unit is not worth the money. Look elsewhere...

After visting numerous appliance stores and realizing that store units are overpriced, we took a chance and ordered sight unseen the Avanti. We were not disappointed. the unit works like a charm and is just what we wanted.

I am very satsified with the looks and performance of this product. I did a lot of research before making this purchase. It was a pleasure doing business with A J Madision. I called thier sales department before I made the purchase on line. They were very curteous and informative.They had the best price and the delivery was right on schedule.
