Unique ice-bank reserve provides protection for frozen contents for up to 42 hours* in cases of loss of power.
Summit's VT175IB is a chest style, low-temperature freezer made in North America, and designed to operate at temperatures as cold as -30°C. This model is fully featured with an adjustable digital thermostat and a high temperature warning alarm. The digital read-out displays the current temperature in the freezer. A fully integrated lock and handle and an interior light are standard. Stainless steel corner guards protect the freezer from dents and damage in your busy environment.
VT175-IB incorporates Summit's ice-back technology, to provide a reserve capacity of non-toxic, fluid-filled cold plates that can help protect contents in event of power failures, inadvertent disconnecting of the power supply or malfunction of the freezer. A battery powered alarm is provided to warn of increasing temperatures, and will display the high and low temperatures recorded in the freezer. The ice-bank is fully installed and is maintenance-free. Model VT175IB has over 3" of insulation in the exterior walls.
* Tests by an independent testing laboratory (Intertek/ETL) conducted at an ambient temperature of 70 degrees F (21 degrees C) showed that when contents (75% filled) were stabilized at -22 degrees F (-30 degrees C), and power was turned off, contents were held below freezing (32 degrees F or 0 degrees C) for over 42 hours. Individual results will vary based on ambient temperature, percentage of capacity used, and frequency of lid opening.
