REPLACED TWO 17 YEAR OLD UNITS WITH 2 NEW ONES. ALWAYS REGARDED FRIEDICH AS THE BEST STILL NO 1 IN MY OPINION THE 17 YEAR OLD UNITS WERE STILL WORKING JUST THOUGHT IT WAS TIME TO UPGRADE

I bought this unit because of the quality Friedrich is known for. It is very well made. The unit cools very well and the heat works great. The compressor is very quiet. The only complaint I have is that the fan is a little noisy on low speed. This is a 3 speed unit, but there is a 4th speed on the display that I wish I would have had the option to purchase. All in all it is a great unit, and Friedrich is the brand I see the most in the area where I live. That says a lot.

I purchased 2 ss12510 units in 1995 and was very pleased with their perfomance; particulary their sound - a nice hum. I just replaced with them with 2 ss14n10 units and these units emit more of a buzz then a pleasant hum. The front louvers have a tendancy to rattle and constantly need to be reconfigured in order to make the buzzing to stop.

The AC model I purchased seems to be built very well but it's expensive and the front cover make the unit look big in the room.
