The Hoover story begins in 1907. Murray Spangler, an inventor who worked nights as a janitor, had an asthma problem. He called upon his inventor's creativity to find a solution to the dust that aggravated his asthma as he swept up at night. Spangler gathered a tin soap box, a fan, a sateen pillow case and a broom handle, and assembled an odd-looking, cumbersome contraption that managed to pull the dust away from the air he breathed. He quickly realized that this "suction sweeper," as he called it, had enormous sales potential, and he began seeking financial backing. W.H. "Boss" Hoover, owner of a leather goods manufacturing shop, bought the patent from Spangler in 1908, retained him as a partner, and soon had six employees assembling six units a day in a corner of the leather goods shop. Now that's a humble beginning.
The Hoover Multi-Cyclonic Bagless Canister provides no loss of suction performance. It's multi-cyclonic cleaning system with a Hepa media filter cleans as good as the first time, every time. The bagless design means there is no need to worrying about constantly buying and replacing your bags, and the included filter can be easily rinsed in your sink to increase its effectiveness and longevity. The motorized swiveling power nozzle brushroll loosens and lifts out deep down dirt while easy to maneuver and cleans right up to your baseboards. The extendable telescoping want allows for an extended cleaning surface when trying to vacuum tough to reach areas, such as under furniture or in tight corners. The convenient cord rewind lets you store your cord neatly inside the vacuum. The included dusting brush for detailed cleaning is stored right under the handle, so it is always easy to reach and there when you need it. The brushroll controls are conveniently located right where they should be- at your fingertips. Available at AJ Madison.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Crankit211 Best vacuum I've ever owned.
I wanted something lightweight and easy to maneuver. This unit is not only that, but it has highly efficient suction power. I have an Australian Shepherd and this unit picks up the dog's hair with no problem (carpet, hardwood, or linoleum). I do pop open and clean the brush assembly every month, which is no biggie. I bought this three years ago, and it still performs like new. The lightness of this model makes tasks like clearing cobwebs and vacuuming the cars much less of a hassle. It also does an excellent job going from different floor surfaces without the need to re-adjust any settings. The push-button power cord storage is nice, also. I have owned more than several vacs in my 50+ years. I thought a vacuum was just a vacuum, until I started using this little gem.

The fact that it converts to an even lighter hand-held vac makes tasks like clearing cobwebs and vacuuming the cars much less of a hassle. I have owned more than several vacs in my 50+ years. Rated 2 out of 5 by queensuzique Love it when it works...
When I first purchased this vacuum I thought is was great! However, the brush stopped working soon after, took it to be repaired and, repaired again. The brush stopped working again and the company sent me a new one which is still working ok but now, it got really loud and stopped sucking. I cleaned it out really well thinking that maybe the problem but, NOPE! I've always emptied the bin and cleaned the dog hair off the brushes every time I use it. I don't expect a miracle, it's small but when it works, does a decent job. Thought a Hoover was a good name which is why I bought this one. I vacuum at least once a week and I just hope it will work when I plug it in. Today I'm off to buy another vacuum so I can finish the job I started this morning.
