After one meal, the cooktop failed to ignite. After 3 visits from Thermador's warranty repair service, and having the entire guts of the unit replaced, it was determined that the wiring was defective which shorted the ignition module. Next time we may need NASA.
It cooks great. Only time will tell if this defect, which I am told was very unusual, is fixed.

Installed granite countertop and decided to replace our old Thermador cooktop. This model has a greatly expanded burner surface and variable burners sizes. As close to a commercial cooktop as you can get. We love it.
