I was replacing a 30" GE Profile gas cooktop with the Thermador SGS304FS, primarily for the looks. I had owned Thermador products 20 years ago and thought they were fantastic. I was not disappointed this time either. The powerful burners far exceed the performance of the GE Profile series. The star shaped burners allow for very even heating of the pans, into the center, not just around the perimeter of the pans. The recessed drip zones are super easy to clean. The continuous cast iron grates are not so heavy to remove as some I have owned.
