I really wanted to love this fridge. We needed something counter-depth but had a limited budget. We narrowed it down to just a handful of choices but went with this model even though it was more expensive than the others because it came with high marks from Consumer Reports. On the surface, it's wonderful -- beautiful, ample storage, near silent and energy efficient. But major problems with the icemaker have made this a nightmare purchase. Just two weeks after installing it, water started leaking under the freezer onto our newly-installed floor. The icemaker is the culprit. It has caused our entire freezer back wall to be coated in a layer of ice. Then water leaks on the floor. A repairman has come out to fix it twice and replace the entire icemaker once. And despite all this work, it has never produced a cube of ice through the dispenser and water continues to leak on the floor unless we turn the icemaker off. We are currently trying to get a new fridge.

I purchased this refrigerator after buying two others from other retailers. With those purchases, I did my research after-the-fact. As a result, I cancelled each purchase prior to deliver. Not so with this one.
I have been using this refrigerator for almost one week, and I love it. It is smaller than the one it replaced, but I knew that prior to purchasing it. It is beautiful, classic looking and has great features.

How would you like a Fisher & Paykal for the price of a Whirlpool refridgerator. Here is the bargain. Wow, what do I like about it....everything. Filtered water, great lighting and it is a counter sunk refridgerator but is the size of a regular refridgerator. I can get more things in this fridge and my old GE profile was not counter sunk. One of the reasons why is because it helps to organize your food better so... you can get more in the fridge. Love, love, love this fridge.
