Even though one probably shouldn't buy a cooktop for looks, dang it looks nice sitting on that dark granite countertop!!! No one has visited without commenting on how pretty it is.
From a functional standpoint, it's hard to see how they could improve it in any way. The burners are widely spaced for room, you can slide pans around easily, the burners ignite instantly and heat evenly, the knowbs are very solid and instinctively laid out, and cleanup is easy. If there is anything negative about the unit, we have not found it after several months of heavy use.
I had a few moments of panic when the box arrived badly bashed in on one corner, but the delivery guy stayed there and helped me get it out of the box to inspect it for any damage. Luckily Viking builds their box so well that there was none.

We are so happy with our purchase from AJ Madison! The Viking Cooktop is just beautiful! Everyone is so impressed that we have a Viking Cooktop....little do they know the value we found it on AJ Madison. I was a little nervous buying such an expensive appliance from an online retailer, but my fears were calmed when the product was received with no issue.
The cooktop was installed by professionals and looks wonderful with our new granite countertops. So far, clean-up has been a breeze. I use a damp microfiber cloth and wipe with the grain of the stainless steel. Then, I use wipe-on SS cleaning cloths for a finishing touch.
While the price for the Viking was any better than I could find locally, it also wasn't any worse. Plus, since I live in TX, there was no sales tax, which saved me more than $100!
I am very happy with the purchase of the Viking cooktop from AJ Madison and would recommend them highly for other appliance purchases.

I've only had the unit for about a month, but I can tell it really is far more powerful than my original Thermador cooktop. It's a little 'bulkier' than the Thermador but it probably just appears that way because it's installed in an island rather than against a wall. So far, I really like it except it was shipped with some minor scratches in the back, however not enough to make the effort to send it back and wait for another one. The stainless cleans up really nicely.

We purchased this 36" Viking gas cooktop to replace an ailing German-branded cooktop. While this Viking is a new model in their line-up and while it was considerably more expensive than many alternatives, we went for it because of a previous positive experience with a Viking cooktop in a prior home. We have not been disappointed after some weeks of daily use. The burner lighting is instantaneous, and the burner control and simmer capability are outstanding. Clean-up is easy, and the modern look of the appliance is, we believe, very clean and great!
