We just recently remodeled our kitchen and purchased all G E Profile appliances. We are happy with everything but the cooktop. It seems that we spend more time cleaning it after use than we do cooking with it. About the only time we have not spent time cleanig it after use is if we heat water. We have used it less than a month and will probably replace it very soon.

This cooktop requires alot of work to keep clean. Each time after we use it, the burner that we used gets a hard-to-get-off coating of "stuff".

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bear BEAUTIFUL BUT IT WOULDN'T FIT
We originally ordered this model but didn't get a chance to use it. I am giving this review to make other people aware that the specifications say that this model is 3-1/4" high. That is not correct. The PP945 & PP950 are 6-1/2" high, which is only mentioned in the installation instructions. There is an extra metal box attached to the bottom of the cooktop, which makes their height measurement different than other models. We ordered this cooktop to go into our newly-remodeled kitchen, which has a drawer specifically designed to be used with a "smooth-top". Unfortunately, after the hole was cut in our countertop, this cooktop was too deep and our drawer wouldn't fit underneath it. So, we had to return it. To replace it, we chose the GE Profile PP912, which is similar, except with knobs, and we had no problem with it fitting the space. These cooktops are sleek, contemporary and hardly visible on a dark countertop. If this model works as well as the one that we have, then I have no problem recommending it. Just make sure you have enough space for it to fit.
