Rated 5 out of 5Â by bobo7 Worth the cost
I've had my new induction stove for about a month now and I just love it. The control operation is so easy and intuitive. It's also easy to keep clean and the way it heats my new Cuisinart pots is faster than gas.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Bob28 Induction is the way to go! GE makes the best!
The Induction Range by GE is one of the best on the market. It's pricey, but it's worth it. One of our friends has one and they just raved about it, so when it came time to remodel the kitchen, we opted for the slide-in model. Normally a slide-in range requires some countertop at the back to fill in between the back of the range and the wall. Not the GE PHS925ST2SS. It fits perfect;y in the openiing where our old smooth-top free-standing GE range used to be. So far the new induction range performs flawlessly - we couldn't be happier. After seeing our new range, our good neighbors up the road have decided on purchasing the free-standing model of the GE induction range for their kitchen upgrade.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by KWCIndy Feet of plastic are a problem
We selected the GE Profile induction, slide-in range as part of our kitchen refresh project because we were excited by the technology and were looking for a cooktop with the lowest cleaning and maintenance effort. After having gas ranges for over 20 years, we were tired of the cooked-on stains and all the cavities and crevices that would collect mess. We hope the induction top and its inherently cooler temps will minimize the mess and clean-up times.
We have not had the range long enough for me to comment on its cooking features but I wanted to write about one mechanical aspect of the unit that I consider a major problem. We are *very* disappointed in the adjustable mounting feet that came with the unit. They are the same plastic, threaded columns that I have seen on ranges costing less than a third of what we paid for this unit.
This "bolt-foot" design is the wrong choice for this product for two reasons: 1. It is very heavy and 2. the height adjustment is very critical and high. At 265 pounds, this range is nearly twice the weight of a standard gas range. I assume the induction tech is heavy. Also, since this range has a ceramic glass top that overhangs the adjacent countertops on each side by design, the bottom of the cooktop must mount above your countertops. Therefore you must set the height carefully and correctly. There is no way to set the back leg height except to do it before you slide the range into place. I do not think our countertops are particularly high or non-standard, but our application called for the leg adjustment to be run-out about as far as it could reach, and as we slid the range back into the range spot, two of the legs bent over (actually the sheet metal they screwed into is what bent), and we lost the structural integrity of those mounting legs.
This happened about 4PM on a Saturday, and we spent the remainder of the evening trying to repair the mounting holes for the legs, going back and forth to the hardware store buying casters, and shopping on-line for an alternate solution. As a last resort, I bought 4 heavy-duty casters that would fit onto the mounting rails underneath the range. Unfortunately now the range is about 3/4" too high for our countertop height, and we have lost all adjustability and the anti-tip bracket won't work with casters.
This design element is unacceptable in a GE Profile series product in this price range. I am going to cut and paste this review in as many places as possible with the hope that GE engineers will see it and review their support system for this range. I cannot say you will have this same problem like we did, but if you are not extremely careful when moving this unit, you will. One suggestion would be to try those Teflon-style sliders under the feet before you try to move this unit. That might help. Anything that will reduce the "run-out" height of the leg columns will also help.
On a positive note, I tested the boil time of our pasta pot this morning. I think it was really fast. We use a 6-quart, 10-inch Cuisinart cast iron enameled pot. I put 4 quarts of cold tap water into it, set it on the power boil induction hob and set the stop watch. I had bubbles on the bottom in less than 4 minutes and achieved a rolling boil in less than ten minutes. I don't know what the gas range boil times were, but my sense is that gas was not that fast.
We look forward to getting past these mounting issues and getting to know our new range and its induction cooktop. I know the induction technology is very popular in Europe and Australia, and I can see why. I am surprised that there are not more induction range choices here in the US and that the popularity of induction is so low. Today is Mother's day, and we will be shopping for some new induction-compatible cookware for my wife as her gift.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Ed Great electric range - compares very well with gas
A little about the features - the manual is generic, but the features are intuitive. The fifth burner is for warming only. Each burner is very specific as to what it will do -- simmer, power boil, etc. The controls are very precise, once you get used to them you can set a number based on what level of heat you want. This is a very heavy range - 250 pounds. One of the consequences is excellent insulation. I have used the oven and turned it off, then was wondering why the oven was still hot an hour later. Nothing wrong, just excellent heat retention. The "slide out top rack" is a god send. So much easier to remove things from the oven.
A word of caution on cookware - a lot of stuff I had said "stainless steel" on the label, but it did not work. A lot of what you buy has an aluminum core and a thin flash coating of chrome or stainless. Bring a magnet if you buy cookware. If it sticks, it will work.
I love the overlap of the range top. It keeps things from dripping on the side. The description in the company literature is poor. The overlap does not go all the way back to account for installations with backsplashes. The only thing you need to worry about is that your opening is standard and you will have to adjust the feet of the range to go over your counter.
Ability to clean the range top is excellent. A simple wipe will do the job.
Cleaning the oven worked first time out. I haven't had a chance to use the warming tray yet.
Controls at the front are great. No more reaching and tweaking dials.
