Rated 5 out of 5 by Bunny It actually works as an AC.
I was very skeptical on purchasing the portable ac since I read too many review that portable doesn't work efficient as the regular wall AC. My mom has master bed(1,250 SF+). Portable AC alone worked great! We have purchased two AC and we love it!

This looks a little like Robbie the Robot, but it does the job. We have a large attic room that has always been unusable during the summer. The window is too small for a window AC, and we did not want to put a hole in a 12" brick wall. The portable AC seemed like the best solution. The product is very well made and well-designed with quality parts that fit precisely. The instructions are easy enough to follow. Installation took roughly one afternoon, probably because we have a narrow window that required a little modification. Once everything is put together, the AC is meant to remain in place. There are two flexible hoses which must be exhausted through the window. It is easy to operate and lives up to the advertising. It holds a steady temperature and is relatively quiet. A blue light shows when it is running--it made a good night light, but could easily be covered. The drain on the back is fairly easy to get to, but I had to find something that would fit under it when I drained it. I'm pleased with the quality and how well it works. We now have a comfortable room that we can use year-round for out of town guests.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cooler than before Works for Me
Cools a medium sized bedroom with very high ceilings nicely. I was surprised that the unit is NOT the same BTU as listed in the ad @ AJ Madison. It is 9000+ not 10,000 as Stated. Disappointed but too dang hot to argue. Delivery men were tops and very polite.

I was warned early on that portables are noisy. They are slightly noisier than in-window a/c's, but the trade-off in freeing up the window space in a small apt. with limited window space is remarkable. And you can turn off the compressor to reduce noise or just turn off the a/c once you have cooled the space.
