Why choose wall-mounted?

The indoor and the outdoor units are both very quiet with the indoor nearly to the extreme. The quality was better than expected, especially the pipes for connecting the outdoor with the indoor unit were better than expected. Installation took a weekend including re-doing the walls where pipes connecting the two units are imbedded.
The unit is installed in the bedroom which now can be cooled to the desired temperature without having to cool down the whole house.

Split unit air conditioners are the only way to go. We didn't want to give up light and ventilation by filling a window with an AC so we mounted the blower unit right on a wall. All we had to do was drill a 1/2" hole through the wall to feed the line to the outside condenser. It works on 110v so there was no additional wiring. The remote control is convenient and simple. Best of all, the unit is whisper quiet, especially compared to window units. You could mount the unit on the ground but we mounted ours high on an outside wall because we live on the second floor of a 1920's vintage condo building. That part was a pain in the butt because we had to make a wall-mount bracket out of some slotted-angle iron. It took us about an hour to get that thing up there. We knew this part going in though, so it didn't detract from our overall satisfaction of the product. I might buy another one for the front half of our unit. Lastly, this unit can stay in place all year round. No need to take it out at the end of the season. Just cover up the condenser unit outside to protect it from the winter cold, snow and ice.

AJ Madison recommends the installation of a Ductless Split System to be done by a trained and qualified HVAC technician with the proper knowledge and background. A trained technician will be able to judge the best location for the air handling (evaporator) unit and also the correct size for the area it has to cool.
