  • How Does Induction Work
  • The electromagnetic energy generated by an induction coil reacts only with iron-like metals, not with ceramic surfaces.
  • The pot absorbs the electromagnetic energy, and converts it into heat.
  • Only the bottom of the pot is heated, which guarantees even heating, safety and energy savings.
  • Bridge Element with 100% Induction Cooking
  • In addition to being used separately, the left front and left rear elements can be joined by the bridge element to evenly heat longer pans and griddles; perfect for your pancakes and French toast.
  • Unlike most manufacturers, LG's induction cooktop features a bridge element that uses 100% induction, with no need for a traditional heating element.
  • SmoothTouch Controls
  • Activate and control the temperature setting with the touch of a finger.
  • Cooking Zone Layout
  • Accommodates all kinds of cooking needs from large pan to the supplied griddle.
  • Streamlined Design
  • Elegant ceramic glass with a premium stainless steel trim will complement any kitchen decor.

Product Reviews
Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Better than Gas! I had been looking for an induction cook top for such a long time, and finally found one with the feature I wanted: the induction bridge element. According to my serial number, I have the 37th unit ever made. I had to wait a long time after my purchase for the unit to ship--online shopping allowed me to buy it before it was actually in production, but that was a unique problem. Now that the unit is in production they are quickly available. This unit is beautifully designed, so sleek and modern looking. My friends all marvel at induction (magic) and the look of this unit (cool). Liquid spills can quickly freak out the touch-controls and force you to reset the device once you've mopped up the spill. It's got great power and easy to see and use heating zones. Lots of cooking options for a 30" top with four elements. The one minus: bridge element is misleading. It is not truly a "rectangular" heat zone, it is simply simultaneous control of the two right zones as a single entity (two circles of heating power) rather than two circles with a "bridge" zone linking the two. As long as you know this, and don't expect completely uniform cooking on the entire griddle surface, you'll be fine. As this is an induction, the surfaces stay clean (even with spills): the cook top doesn't heat up, just the pot/pan. so the cook top remains cooler and food doesn't burn on. The controls are instant and easy to fine tune. This cook top is amazing for everything for high-heat wok cooking (w/ flat bottom wok) to braising of meats and slow cooking. I love this cook top! 7/19/10
Rated 5 out of 5 Induction Rocks This cooktop has shallow depth, and unlike some other similar cooktops, since its cooling air exhaust is out narrow slots in the back, it does not need much air space below. This cooktop is installed just above a cutlery drawer, and I can confirm that the spoons and forks remain cool. Installation was easy, the included electrical conduit cord is generously long. The induction cooking works as advertised, water boils amazingly fast, and temperature adjustments happen quickly. The cooktop is quiet during operation, but not silent. The touch controls are well thought out, and once understood operate predictably. The included stainless griddle is surprisingly elegant and works well. 5/26/10
Rated 4 out of 5 by Induction good. Touch not so much Clearly induction is better. Induction is new and currently overpriced. I had difficulty finding quality cookware that would work (having to replace everything I had). With my best pan I can bring water to boil, remove the pan and the surface is not too hot to touch (awesome). When I turn it off, the heat is INSTANTLY stopped (amazing). The included pan is a nice bonus. con-My only complaint is the sensitivity of the touch controls. There have been times I put my finger on a button and nothing happens, yet I've had water boil over and cause the entire surface to go nuts...lights start blinking, letters flashing. Causing me to turn the whole thing off to reset and start completely over turning the elements back where they were. 1/15/11
Rated 5 out of 5 by Induction cooking is tops We've had our LG Induction cooktop for about a month now. Induction cooking is all that is advertised. Very fast, good control, cool cooking surfaces. We now routinely use a paper towel underneath lidded pots that "leak" over. Everyone is amazed that can be done. The accessory long pan for use with the "bridge" feature is very handy for breakfasts and 2-3 steaks at once. 9/20/12
