Very disappointed in performance. Nearly always have to hand-clean numerous supposedly clean items before they can be put away. Would like to have my 15-year-old Maytag back.

This Dishwashwer KUDS30 was selected to replace a KDS18 from the 1970's! We have been very happy with the quietness of the new one. We can now hear ourselves in the kitchen while the dw operates. My wife now choses to use the dry mode to have clean and dry dishes. The wash/dry cycle takes alot longer than our 30 year old brute, however we think the new dw uses less energy than the old one. We first wanted Kitchenaid from reputation. Next we went to Consumer Reports, where the KDS30 was a "Best Buy". We shopped high and low and could not find the color we wanted until we found AJMadison on the internet. The price was OK, they delivered when promised. Overall the experience has been great. Delivery guys ran a little late when they ran into Baltimore rush hour traffic-they called when they knew they would be late. I was very happy with the delivery guys. On time, neat, quick.

We've only used the dishwasher twice. Both times it cleaned well. We are, however, VERY UNHAPPY with the door. It is flimsy and bends when opened and closed and due to this flimsiness, it is difficult to close. The door actually bends, as if it were made out of thin aluminum. When closing, you have to move it from sisde to side in order to have it latch properly. Hopefully, it won't break off the hinges. It makes a fine machine into a piece of garbage.
The stainless steel interior is fabulous. The exterior no so great. The heat from the machine makes the outside stainless steel all splotchy and the finger prints are a nightmare. As soon as you wipe it, the marks reappear. The quality is like a $200 or less washer; we paid $700.
I always thought that KitchenAid was the king of dishwashers...Guess that was way back in the day. Today, their product is flimsy and constructed of poor quality materials. Are we pleased with our purchase? NO way!
