Cleaning up has never been so easy or looked so good. With innovative features, exceptional performance, and sleek, unified design elements that complement the rest of the Architect Series II suite, Kitchenaid dishwashers offer a stylish solution for your toughest cleaning challenges. All KitchenAid dishwashers feature a 4-blade food disposer that quietly grinds up food particles so they can be washed away through the drain, eliminating the need to prerinse dishes or clean out the bottom of the dishwasher.
The S Series dishwasher performance package offers cleaning versatility for your most stubborn messes, including the ProScrub Option which uses patented technology to target heavy or baked-on soils. The fully integrated console hides the controls, creating a clean look in your kitchen.
Flexible loading options ensure the cleanest dishes, while secure placement prevents items from moving around during the cycle. A removable third rack fits above the upper rack and gives you dedicated space for hard-to-fit items like large whisks and spatulas.
The ProScrub Option delivers concentrated cleaning performance during the Normal wash cycle to clean the most stubborn baked-on messes without disturbing delicate items, such as stemware. Dishes come out spotless with no added time, energy, or water.

Rated 5 out of 5 Must Have DIshwasher!!!
After using this dishwasher for the past 5 months I can tell you this is the greatest dishwasher I have ever owned. I have always had to rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Basically clean them before they get cleaned. I wanted to find a dishwasher where I didn't have to do this. This one has exceeded my expectation by a mile. I literally put dishes in there that as so bad that I would have to soak them in hot water first before I could clean them myself. Food that doesn't fall off into the garbage can goes right in the dishwasher. I have not played with all the settings but my favorite is heavy duty, sani rinse and hi temp scrub because this combination works so I keep using it. Make sure you give the dishes enough space so that they are not touching each other. When the cycle is done 99% of the time the dishes are spotless!!! When I say 99% of the time this is with washing some of the dirtiest dishes you would ever put in a dishwasher. At the same time this dishwasher is so quiet you do not even know it's running. I suspect that the key to my success is the hi temp scrub. This works by only using the same heating element at the bottom that is used for drying. Other manufactures claim that that this doesn't work well and they boost their own patent technology to do this. Let me tell you they are wrong! When I open my dishwasher during the middle of the cycle let me tell you that inside is sizzling hot with this option turned on. In summary if you want an all around excellent dishwasher that you don't have to clean the dishes first before using it then this is the only one you should be buying.

My wife and I love the KitchenAid Architect S Series II dishwasher. This model allowed us to match our new cabinets and with its hidden controls, it is absolutely beautiful. It holds more dishes than our old dishwasher and the dishes come out cleaner. I no longer have to close my pocket doors in adjacent rooms when the dishwasher is running as it is so quiet I can hardly notice it running. One important surprise was that after mounting a solid Maple Wood-Mode cabinet door (very heavy) the door springs easily prevented the door from freefalling towards the floor. The door will actually hold open at any partial open position, like when you're just putting a coffee mug onto the top rack and you don't need to drop the door fully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bill B Better than Consumer's Reports says
Consumer's Reports rated our old Kenmore Elite dishwasher as one of the best. We have had ongoing problems with it. Sears Appliance Service was completely unhelpful (they've never been able to fix any of their appliances correctly -- I had to fix a Kenmore double oven that was supposed to be under warranty, and ended up suing them to get reimbursement) so we finally gave up on the Elite and ordered this KitchenAid model, with our selection based mostly on the opinions of other consumers. The KitchenAid works just as it is supposed to: the dishes come out nice and clean and you can't hear it running. Interestingly, I suspect that both the Kenmore Elite and the KitchenAid are from the same manufacturer as they are very similar inside. Somehow, however, the KitchenAid does the job better. Let's see how long it lasts -- that is always the final test.

This dishwasher looks fabulous, with stainless steel inside and out. It has plenty of cycles and cleans well. It's also very quiet, which was a key feature for me.
