I have owned this product for over 2 years. I too have had problems with this refrigerator. The ice in the door clumps up and doesn't dispense if not used every day and the cubes are way too small. Not nearly as spacious as it should be for its size. Bin fronts on freezer side are always coming off.

I bought a whole kitchen full of Kitchen aid products and so far I AM NOT IMPRESSED. I mentioned to the product division of Kitchen aid that this particular refrig. should not have made it past the first product development personal. NO REDEEMING qualities! Ice 5 small cubes every 1 1/2 hours, loud, warm water, no space, you name it this refrig. is the worst product on the market! I tried to trade it in for an earlier model that I liked and this one replaced the earlier model..THIS IS JUNK!! AND KITCHEN AID WILL NOT stand by their product!! NEVER AGAIN will I buy Kitchenaid!

I have had this refrigerator about 9 mon now and am liking it. Must admit that took awhile. I came from a Whirlpool side by side and compared that had more shelves. But after ordering an additional door tray for the refrig and another shelf for the freezer, it's good. I also found some stainless stacking baskets at Target (in the bath area no less!) that are working great in the freezer. The surfaces are easy to clean and smooth. The veg drawer is smaller and a whole melon or cabbage won't fit without pulling the drawer out past it's stop. But I don't have to worry about blocking the airflow on the sides of the shelves and getting frozen veggies any more.
The temp stays even and I'm finding it easy to find things on the shelves.Things stack nicely.
We did have trouble with the ice maker clogging and they ordered us a new door. I wish the water from the dispenser was colder. Otherwise, a good purchase.

I purchased this to replace a bottom freezer Amana. Decided I wanted side by side, as digging in the freezer drawer had become inconvenient. I was looking for something that would have a similarly sized capacity in the fridge compartment, and based on the specs this one had it. What I found was a small interior capacity, shallow drawers, and not enough bins on the fridge door. I had to order two more to add additional capacity. BEWARE, they are very expensive add-ons. I also ordered an additional shelf for the freezer. As others have noted, the water from the dispenser does not come out cold, but so far the ice maker is working fine. The unit did come to termerature within 2 hours of being installed which was nice. The ice maker is loud, and very slow to fill.
