Rated 2 out of 5 by CDOG99 Disappointed with KitchenAid
We started having problems with this unit 2 weeks after installation with an F47 error code. Parts were backordered for several weeks. Once installed, they didn't fix the problem. The technician had to remove the unit and take it back to his shop to work on it. Now there is a clicking sound that happens at settings below 5. It gets louder when set on simmer. KitchenAid claims it is normal operation and will do nothing else to resolve the issue. I have become very disappointed with the brand. We also bought a 42" built-in fridge at the same time that had parts missing. I think KitchenAid has engineering/quality issue and I highly recommend looking at other induction manufacturers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mark R Does not work with small pots and pans
I had the same problem as others. I just installed this unit and tried to use a 1qt. pot about 5in. across the bottom and it would not work. All the bigger ones would work fine. Had I known of this issue I would have never bought this unit. I don't understand why they wouldn't have put at least one smaller dual size hob on it. Other than that I love how quickly it will boil a pot of water on larger pots and how well it controls the temp compared to a radiant cook top.
I also got their pop up downdraft vent which is very low quality for a premium price. It doesn't seal around the bottom so you lose a lot of suction from where you should have it from the venting grid at the top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mamagug Love this cooktop!
We've had this cooktop installed for about 5 months -- and I absolutely love it. My only complaint is that the shiny black surface shows every bit of lint (and the positive far outweigh this minor complaint) -- but looks great when it is clean! It heats up amazingly fast, and you can boil a pot of water for pasta in no time (that boost feature is fantastic). I bought a set of high quality Analon pans, and there is a very small pot that the cooktop doesn't recognize -- but not a reason to not purchase this again. Love it!

This was just installed a few days agol We have a set of induction cookware by Circulon teflon coated. Works great on the portable unit we bought to see if we wanted to go induction. Great control, heats fast, but does not work with the 1 or 2 Quart pots. I called Kitchenaid and they said it had to be adjusted and sent a repairmen over the next day. He called technical support and they told him our pots were too small and the top could not be adjusted. We had our countertop cut to fit this unit and it looks like their 30 inch has a smaller burner. Someone in their engineering dept. really screwed up. We are going to buy an induction interface disk so we can heat a can of soup without using a 3 qt. pot.
