With convection and high-speed cooking capabilities, this microwave hood combination oven provides more cooking options and less cook time than conventional microwaves. And, the TruCapture Ventilation System is the most efficient ventilation system found in a microwave hood combination oven. The Optimawave Technology with true 10-level power helps eliminate cold spots and undercooked edges commonly found in microwave cooking.
High-Speed Cooking combines microwave energy, a convection fan, and a quartz broiling element to achieve a desired degree of cooking, browning, and crisping in less time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MD-20814 Good while it lasted....3 years
Great while it lasted, but after 3 years the display is frequently non-responsive (have to unplug to get it back). The display also self activates...have learned to live with that for the last 12 months by turning the volume down. Can't tolerate the non-responsiveness any longer, so going into the trash after 3 years. I expect more from a $1000+ microwave. Rather than $500 plus on a repair, will try another brand.

This one replaced a troublesome previous model. Had it repaired twice in one year now the magnatron has gone bad cost $600. plus service call to fix it. Kitchen Aid uses one of the most costly magnatrons on the market. Had top of the line Kithchen Aid stove repaired twice then the main circuit board went bad cost $468. plus $100. service call. I Googled the error code, I was the 2,994 th person to view that error code literally thousands had same problem with that same model stove. Both went bad within two months of each other we will never buy another Kitchen Aid product. We had Kitchen Aid thinking it would be a quality, long lasting appliance, but to our chagrin such was not the case. Threw the stove away found one on clearance with same features for $599. plus $125. for four year warranty. The microwave will follow the stove to the dump, found many nice, basic built in's for $400. Black Friday probably get top of the line for around $500.

Rated 2 out of 5 by TG Poor quality
At first we loved this microwave. It cooks very evenly and I love the custom defrost features. The hood is loud but very effective at moving air. The trouble: it is a poorly made unit. It broke once literally one week after the 1 year warranty expired. Now, a year and half later it is broken again. The silver paint on the handle has also chipped off revealing white plastic. Unimpressive.
