Rated 2 out of 5 by this cooktop may be dangerous I just had cooktop installed. The store at which I purchased it didn't have one on display so I only had internet pictures to go by, but I was very excited to have a stove with a 17000BTU burner, so I bought it sight unseen. I might have reconsidered the purchase if I had seen it, for two reasons. The lesser reason is that the burners are 2 full inches above the surface of the cooktop. That is going to take some getting used to. However, the bigger reason is that the knobs used to turn the burners on/off are only 1.5 inches from the actual grate which holds your pot over the 17000 BTU burner. When you heat a large pot or Dutch oven over that burner, the heat emanating from underneath the pot is going to make the knobs, particularly the closest one, VERY hot. I don't know if would have purchased this cooktop if I had seen this design flaw- it can only be described as a design flaw- no one who cooks would have thought this was an intelligent positioning of the knobs in relation to the burner grates. 12/20/10
