Very good value. I would recommend oversizing the hole needed for the piping and drain line slightly, its tight to begin with and feeding the control wiring to the inside unit becomes quite difficult. A 3" hole is still covered by the unit when piped from the back.
Works like a charm.

Perfect for my new 240 square foot room. It has been over a 100 deg.'s here. Cools room fast. Not noisy.

sKiZo Great value - great performance
I have an old school split level, with an addition about 380 square feet that's three feet lower than the original foundation. Got this unit in hopes of being able to cool the lower rooms during the heat waves. Open floor plan throughout with standard size door arches. Mounted the unit in the bedroom and set it for 68F, and the sunroom next door (two walls of thermopane glass with a west exposure) stays a pleasant 72F. Big surprise - it's also cooling the kitchen, and that's in the main part of the house.
I'm a DIYer myself, so I had no problem doing all the prep work and installation. The instructions are minimal, but the important stuff (like wiring) is all there. The service manual is also available online for the uber geeks among us. One head scratcher - the "swing" function for directing the output air moves only the horizontal vanes - I expected the internal side to side vanes to be motorized also, but those are manual. No biggie.
The unit is extremely quiet, both inside and out, even on high. No more "box of rocks" in the wall, like my old AC. The remote is full featured, but I would have preferred to have most of the control duplicated on the wall unit. You lose the remote, all you can really do is turn it on and off in "auto" mode. Sleep mode puts out about as much sound as a small table fan, if that. It does make a slight ticking sound as the case heats and cools, but that's to be expected with a plastic shell. I was a bit curious at first when the indoor unit fan ran constantly until I noticed the outdoor unit was cycling on and off as needed. I actually prefer it that way, as having the fan turn off and on would be more annoying - It does a nice job of keeping the air circulating, and the steady sound reminds me of my old Marzana sleep machine.
And yes, the owner's manual doesn't say much. I'm still working on some of the advanced features for the different modes, but frankly, it's doing a fine job as is.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Skipper Bee Outstanding performance; poor manual
I am very pleased with the appearance and performance of this air conditioner. However, the instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. The manual does not explain how to set the timer or what the "sleep" function does. Overall, it is a good value, is very quiet, and does an outstanding job at air conditioning my bedroom.

Luxuries of a Mini-Split (Ductless Split System)
Ductless Split Air Conditioner & Heat Pump products offer wide versatility in solving your cooling and heating requirements. The Indoor unit (evaporator) is mounted inside the room, and usually goes very unnoticeable. It is connected to the outdoor unit (condenser) via refrigerant lines & inter-unit wiring through a 3-1/2" opening in the wall. Since no ductwork is required, installation is simple, fast & efficient. There is no need to use up window space or cut large openings in existing walls, which could undermine the integrity of your structure, and even pose security risks. Since the Rotary compressor is located in the outdoor unit, compressor operating noise is virtually eliminated from the indoor. The indoor unit has been uniquely designed to provide Whisper Quiet operation while delivering comfort throughout the room(s). In addition, rotary compressors provide efficient, powerful cooling at the lowest noise levels in the industry.
