Here's to 90 years and one important ingredient - you.
It all started in 1919 with the legendary stand mixer. In the 90 years since, they have built an entire kitchen of cooking and cleaning products around the same quality craftsmanship, versatile technology and timeless style. Through it all, the secret ingredient to their success has always been you. Available at AJ Madison.
KitchenAid has spent decades creating innovative products for the well-equipped kitchen. From commercial grade cooktops and wine cellars to stand mixers and an impressive assortment of cookware, bakeware and accessories, they offer virtually every culinary essential you could need.
This cooktop is great for island or peninsula installation, as its built-in downdraft vent captures smoke, steam, and odors right at the surface. And for efficient heating, three double-ring round elements allow you to choose which to use based on cookware size.

Went to the website and then called to ask a few questions. Price was unbeatable, delivery was reasonable, stovetop was installed with ease and wife is VERY HAPPY. Would recommend AJ Madison to all my friends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Purchaser in Massachusetts Looks great, switches break easily
My wife and I bought this cooktop to fit a 36" spot in a cooktop, and it fit perfectly (and beautifully). Installation was easy. From an appearance perspective, we couldn't be happier.
Our complaint, though, is the knobs. The five knobs for the elements turn either way; the fan knob, only one way. My ten year old daughter inadvertently turned the fan knob the wrong way -- not even hard -- and it snapped, causing a burning electrical smell and the fan to turn on and off randomly (we turned off the breaker to wait for the repair).
After the repairman completed the $150+ repair, including $90 for the switch assembly, he commented that the switch was the lowest-quality switch he'd ever encountered; in his opinion, he said, he could break the replacement (OEM) switch easily if he wasn't careful.
A $1200 cooktop is for cooking, not a showpiece; we shouldn't have to handle it with kid gloves. But we have to be very careful with this cooktop.
(As for the knobs, what you SEE is a nice; but lift off any knob and the assembly underneath is a very cheaply made, $90-to-replace piece of junk.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by BJ Kitchenaid 36" cooktop
It heats very quickly and was easy to install. But the knobs/switches seem a little on the cheap side and don't inspire confidence of the quality of the unit. A single red light denotes "hot srface" but doesn't say where. Likewise red "on lights" illuminate for the various burners but setting the temperature is the old fashioned way (low/medium/high, etc). There are no digital temp readouts
