I purchased this because I have a wall on the left side and limited space-36 inches. Plently of room for the door to swing with the handle. Very convienent, good inside space, and best of all, it looks good. Good price nice appliance.

I love my new KitchenAid Architect II series stainless steel fridge. Contrary to the description I found online, it does indeed have slide out shelves, which I like. I took out one of the shelves to better accomodate the things I store in my fridge, but better to have too many shelves than too few! Having a freezer on the bottom and thus the fridge up top has been great for me since the part of the fridge I use the very most is the crisper drawers. These are at a very comfortable height. I do wish the lidded butter bin was designed to fit and function in locations other than the top of the door; it's hard for my petite 10 year old to reach. The Amana icemaker I bought to use with this appliance is annoyingly noisy - not just occasional loud cycles but frequent clicking and other noises.
