We will replace this unit when we remodel because it is white and doesn't match the new kitchen. We are also switching to counter depth because this unit is quite deep and counter depth will leave more room in the walkway.
No problems with the 'fridge itself. It isn't noisy except when the ice drops, and we have never had any problems with the temperatures of either 'fridge or freezer. The french doors took some getting used to but there is a warning beeper that sounds if you don't get the doors closed properly...it will train you to close the doors correctly. The only thing I don't like about the refrigerator is that because it is so deep there are items that are hard to reach in the back of the shelves. The inside door storage is great...big enough for a gallon of milk and more, plus the door storage has a liner which can easily be removed for cleaning. The deli drawer is great for flat things...tortillas, cheese, salad trays, fruit trays. Overall have had no complaints with this appliance.

Cooling system quit after 2 years. Whirlpool wants us to pay $700 to replace their defective fridge despite warranty.

I bought this model about 7 months ago and can't say I'm thrilled. The left door on the fridge is always ajar; it's very annoying to constantly have to check to make sure the fridge isn't open. Far worse, however, is that the condensation drain in the freezer tends to freeze over. As a result, water pools on the floor of the freezer and, when the space is full, it overflows and slowly drips through the seal and onto my floor. This morning I discovered a puddle that ran for 18 inches across my hard wood. Apparently this is a common problem with this unit. I found a do it yourself repair on the internet that involved disassembling the freezer unit and running copper wire around the heating element that is supposed to make the condensation drip out, but frankly that's just not something I want to do. Buyer beware!

My wife and I decided to replace our top freezer refrigerator (Kitchenaide, still running fine after 7 years) with a bootom freezer, dutch door model. After shopping locally some, and researching warranties on the 'net, we decided on this model. Kitchenaid seems to have the best warranty of any brand. Buying from AJ Madison was a pleasure. I ordered by phone because I had a few questions. Later I had a couple more questions regarding a rebate, and the customer service department rep was knowlegeable and helpful. Delivery was less than a week after ordering, and was done professionally, with no problems.
I generally like the new fridge.
