We replaced our broken built in 12 year old GE microwave with this newer model that was similar and surprisingly well priced. There was just enough difference in size from the old model to require the purchase of a new outside cover plate and inset kit, making the overall price considerably more. In addition, it took my husband, a man who works with tools, several hours of struggling and futzing to get it to fit in properly. While it works well so far, it is considerably louder than the previous model and the interior plate is smaller, thinner and seems cheap. In addition, the only fitting new outside cover plate was a larger solid shiny white metal with weird edge vents and the overall look was cheesy. So, like my middle-aged body, I tell myself that while it is big, loud and bordering hideous...it gets the job done!

I am on my third one in 5 years. Both prior models failed at 2.5 year mark. Stay far away from this product and GE customer service. Unfortunately, it is the only one that fits in the cabinet we built.

The microwave has a built in turntable that is nice to have. Has many features based on the type of food you are dealing with. AJMadison was very accommadating with replacing a damaged unit from shipping. Very happy with the service and the unit. The door is black and reflective finish and shows finger prints. They should have a spot on the door with rubber material that you can close the door and not leave fingerprints. The same for the button to open the door (should be a different material so fingerpints don't show up). White probably doesn't have that problem.

ordered on the phone without problem. received microwave a day early and it all went smoothly. No dents or scratches. Now food is hot again.
