When shopping we looked a quite a few, and decided that the little extra cost was worth what this model offered. We love the steam cleaning option and the stove wipes out quickly from spills. The cooking surface is great, burners warm up quickly and adjust easily and cool off quickly also. 4/29/13

Rated 5 out of 5 by DesertBaker GE 30" Freestanding This is so far the best stove and purchase this year. I have compared with other freestanding 30" and this stove was first. I love the various convection feature, the "Sabbath" feature, the warming drawer, middle warming plate, multiple racks, delay/slow cook, steam cook, steam clean feature. It was delivered 1 wk after purchase. As soon as I received it, it only took less than 20min to install. I roasted rack of lamb with new potatoes on setting "Convection Roast". The lamb was evenly roasted and no balance issues. I was going to purchase a double oven but the price was too high on the convection feature. However, I chose this model not only numerous features, but for the "slate' color that blends with my countertops 4/24/13

Rated 5 out of 5 by DesertBaker Model J-B705E D1ES Freestanding Stove 30" Slate This is one great American made stove. I have received this item last night and used the Convection Roast option. I have used LeCreuset oval 14' oval casserole dish and my turkey tetrazinni turned out great and evenly cooked. The casserole dish did not char. I have high vaulted ceilings and the heat of the convection did not heat the whole kitchen. I find that to be very nice living in Arizona. The color slate is new and neutral in my kitchen which accentuate the countertop. I love the convection options and the 'Sabbath' option in the 'Bake feature". This is a gorgeous stove and will be purchasing another GE model very soon 4/24/13
