Product Reviews
Rated 1 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't buy this product (or anything from Fagor) I am a residential Architect who purchased a Fagor induction cooktop for my own home. For 2.5 years my wife and I loved using this cooktop until the giant spiderweb crack happened. While cooking on the right element, we set a steam covered pan lid off to the left. When we went to pick up the lid, a slight suction had occurred and with a loud bang the glass heaved up and cracked the entire length of the cooktop in all directions. I’m not that strong and I only wish I were overly dramatizing this. I was willing to replace the glass (even though it's $1,000 plus shipping), but in talking with the local retailer, the regional repair company, the national parts & service company, and Fagor America I found that everyone I talked to had never heard of this happening. My hope was that even though the appliance was out of the warranty period, the unprecedented issue would compel Fagor America to make some concession to keep me as a customer. They did offer to provide me with a replacement appliance (instead of just the glass) for a “deeply discounted” price because of what happened, but this was just the $1400 currently listed by every online retailer and didn't include shipping. In summary they told me "we have no interest in giving away a cooktop to you that someone else is willing to pay for". I will never recommend this company to any of my clients and I am now searching for a new cooktop instead of replacing their glass. I don't trust this company's quality and I found out through this process that the parent company in Spain is going bankrupt and their induction cooktops are being discontinued. If you're still considering this item because of the price, good luck getting service or parts in the future. 3/8/14
