Broke after 18 months of use, like many others are reporting. Runs for about 10 seconds before automatically turning off. Costs more to have repaired than to purchase new. Would never buy this microwave. We unfortunately bought the 500 series combination oven and microwave, so we were stuck with having to pay for the repair.

Doesn't even deserve one star. Zero stars for this product. After 3 months, microwave would shut off after 10 seconds. Bosch repaired under warranty. After 8 months, microwave broke same way. Wasting much time, energy, aggrevation, I demanded Bosch replace, and reluctantly they did. This second microwave, after 13 months has also begun shutting off after 10 seconds. It's out of warranty, Bosch will not repair or replace. To repair, part and labor cost almost as much as microwave. Unfortunately it matches my oven, so what should I do? Doesn't matter, Bosch doesn't care and won't help.

We have experienced the same problem. We bought our mwave in Dec 2010. The unit failed after about 16 months. The cost of repair was the same as a replacement unit so the Bosch repair company replaced the microwave. After 8 months, we have had the same problem. Bosch is aware of the problem and we have been promised a replacement microwave- without the same defect. This microwave is manufactured by Panasonic (apparently all microwaves are made by only 3 manufacturers). This has all been covered "under warranty".

This unit seems to heat food but appears to have several design flaws. I question if Bosch ever thought about or tested the practical use of this unit.
1. Venting - It appears to have very little if any vent for moisture. Condensation forms on window very quickly.
Say heating heating up a piece of Pizza for 30 seconds.
2. - Glass inside microwave can not be cleaned. It is covered with a perforated metal screen. So things can splat through the holes on the glass, but you have no way to wipe off glass. Bosch customer service said I will need to call them and a technician will need to come out and dismantle door to clean glass. FYI: 1 year warranty. I guess I will have them out every month to clean. After year it will cost you big to clean.....Jeezz...
DON"T BUY!
