Rated 5 out of 5 by Telegraph Center Great Compact Dishwasher
Encountered this unit in an apartment I rented in Seattle for two years. At first I was skeptical - (I have fancy relatives who only $ing praises of Miele or better).
Fortunately though this little unit did a great job. Better yet the fact that it wasn't full sized meant that it ran a bit more often, which was handy since I don't eat in enough to have a full sized dishwasher fill up before things get "unpleasant." A bit noisy, but not terribly. Otherwise basic, but washed very well. I would recommend this, and would readily install one in a place that had no dishwasher.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Patrushka 18" GE dishwasher
I bought this for a very small kitchen and certainly got my money's worth. It was easier to load than my 24" dishwasher due to "intelligent design". It was also very quiet. However, after about a year, the dishes weren't dry in the end of the cycle. I never bothered to have it serviced because I moved, but it may have been something easy to fix. I would also be very careful of the front panel. It's an acrylic (I think) and you cannot rub too hard to clean it or it will scratch. Don't use cleaners on it that are too harsh or it will get dull and hazy.
