After one month of use after install, notified customer service of poor performance of dishwasher to empty soap completely from soap dispenser. Notified customer service of the issue and they sent their tech out. First tech told us to use tablets and machine wasn’t designed to use powder. We thought that was odd because the manual states we could use either. So we tried tablets and those didn’t wash out of the dispenser completely either. Tech came back and said we had to turn our water heater up so water was hotter. We tried that and soap still did not rinse out of dispenser completely. We even tried the Cascade tablets samples that came with the dishwasher and the blue film part of the tablet was sitting on the plate below the dispenser at the end of the wash. Please take note, the entire time we used very little powdered detergent or one tablet; we never used excessive detergent. Okay, so the next tech that came out told us powdered detergent was fine, but wanted us to run the sink hot water a bit before starting the dishwasher. Yup, tried that and detergent was still left in the dispenser. He eventually came back and said the upper spray arm didn’t appear to be making a good seal to the back tube washer and wanted to replace both parts. After this, the dishes in the top rack still had food on the top rack after the dishwasher finished. So, called GE again and they said the techs were reporting the dishwasher is “performing as designed”. Trust me, they used this statement very often. I explained that it may be performing as designed, but it was designed very poorly. The soap dispenser door is position right in line with the top rack and doesn’t allow the dispenser door to fully open allowing the water to spray inside the soap compartment.
