Rated 5 out of 5 by Hwildt Best appliance in our home!
The Velos touchscreen microwave is by far the best appliance we own in our home. That said we have all Whirlpool Gold appliances minus our fridge that is a Kenmore Elite. This convection micro is amazing but it better be for the hefty price tag. It has a touch screen menu where it gives you the option to cook, bake, grill, kids menu that list hot dogs etc by just a push of a button the sensor heats the food up and is cooked to perfection. I've baked beautiful cakes and beer bread
comes out looking soooo pretty too as well as biscuits. I like how there are two racks in the microwave oven and I love how when your preheating to bake or cooking a certain way it tells you which rack to use and how to cook your food. Ex. Turn over half way thru cooking. Love love love this unit and I would buy another one in a minute. We've owned it since Dec 2007 and Zero problems with it!

This is poorly built and a poorly engineered product. It will not hold the stated weight. The door trim is poorly designed and fell apart. The door enteiror is very poorly designed, Not easy to repair. Never buy another one of these. It does look great however.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Joan Only lasted 3 years and broke
Great features and great microwave ,however broke with in 3 years - magnatron burnt up and it damaged the waive guide. It is not repairable. For a $1000+ microwave it is NOT worth the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Globugf Catastrophic Failure after 2.5 years!!!!
Pros: Simple Display, Heats Evenly, Attractive Design
Cons: Unreliable
Describe Yourself: Avid Cook
Primary use: Personal
How long have you owned it: More than six months
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I loved this microwave and designed my kitchen remodel around it and recommended to family and friends. When it worked, it was great! It was installed in May 2009 and stopped working in September 2011. The magnetron failed and the replacement magnetron failed in less than 5 seconds. The technician says the wave cone that distributes the waves was damaged and this unit can not be repaired and entire needs to be replaced. Whirlpool's smarmy response was they regret I am having issues with my appliance and would be happy to arrange another service technician to verify the problem at my expense. Based on at the time of this review 9 out of 10 other consumer reports users have a similar experience and please avoid investing in this product that has obvious design or quality issues and I would ask you to second think buying any Whirlpool appliance until they solve their lack of customer support.
