Rated 5 out of 5 Terrific Trash Compactor I have had my new GE trash compactor for several months now, and I am very happy with my purchase. The sleek and simple black exterior adds a sophisticated look to my kitchen, and I really love that there are no visible controls. The foot pedal for opening and operating the compactor is effective and great for when your hands are messy. 9/25/12
Rated 3 out of 5 by No more GE Appliances I've rated this 3 stars because it is average all the way. The motor became problematic after just 3 years requiring frequent resets by unplugging (accomplished by cycling the breaker since the compactor was set up as a built-in. After another 8 months the motor went out completely. Cost to repair is $600.00 A new Kenmore is $599. 2/12/11
Rated 5 out of 5 by Compactor with Class!!! Wow, I'm amazed that I've actually found a compactor that I like better than my old one. But sure enough, GE Profile has gone beyond the standard with this one. So easy to operate, you don't even need hands! Just a touch of the foot to open and another touch of the foot to operate. Beautiful design too! 10/11/10
