Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product ! Great Company! When my garbage disposal finally gave out after many years, I bought the same exact model to replace it because I knew this was a great product/company and would last a long, long time! Works great! I trust Whirlpool brands. ??Every appliance in my home is Whirlpool. 8/31/14
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent product this replaced a whirlpool in sink disposer that lasted 12 years. installation was a snap and this new unit operates flawlessly. 3/26/14
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to install and works great My last Whirlpool Garbage Disposal lasted 18+ years, with light usage over the years. It was still working perfectly when I replaced it. I had to replace it because it rusted a hole on the side. My house has all Whirlpool appliances, and 18 years later, they are still working. This is why I went with another Whirlpool garage disposal. This Whirlpool 1/2 HP In-Sink disposal came with a power cord while my previous one was hot wired. If you don't want the power cord, there is model that doesn't come with the cord and require the disposal to be hotwired. This disposal is so much more quiet that my previous 1/3 hp model. Before removal and installation, I watched YouTube videos and researched online on how to remove and install the this garage disposal as well as how to add an outlet. Everything became very easy because of my research. There is a couple of things that I would like to point out during installation: 1- Clean out the water hose connecting the dishwasher hole on the disposal to the overflow drain above the sink. Over the years and years of usage, built up will happen. I managed to clean out some white pieces of things that look like rock from the hose. 2- When installing the new disposal and if you are using a dishwasher, don't forget to get a hammer and a screwdriver, and pop out the seal in the disposal that connects the water hose for the dishwasher. This can be easily missed in the installation manual. 3- When mounting the disposal to the sink, if you have difficulty lining up the ring on the neck of the disposal to the piece on the sink so that you can turn, hang and lock the disposal to the sink, check to see if there is a 1/4" gap between the 2 pieces. If there is a little gap of space, make sure the ring on the neck of the disposal is snapped into place - push it up. Once it is in place, you shouldn't have problems mounting the disposal and using the tool that comes with the disposal to turn the disposal and lock it in place. 4 - if you are replacing the ring in the sink, make sure you get plumber putty to seal the ring onto the sink to prevent water form leaking from the sink. 10/20/14
