I had the same spotty results the other reviewer mentioned until I read the use and care manual and found out that it was a hard water issue. I started using the softening system and have been spot free ever since. I'll also agree that this dishwasher does not do well with over-sized glasses so I ended up buying some narrower glasses.

"I have had this dishwasher for a few months now. I have yet to have a clean unspotted load from this dishwasher. I have tried various settings and wash cycles thinking that it was something I just needed to experiment with to find the setting that works best for me. GOOD LUCK. I am sure any dishwasher that costs less than half the price can wash better than this unit. I've had a service call and was told that I was using the wrong detergent. Although I was very unsatisfied with that ridiculous assessment I used what was recommended and STILL have the same unacceptable results. The baskets do not accommodate various dishes but seem to be very specific to what Miele designed them for.There is really no flexibility in how you fit various things. The upper basket being extremely bad at handling glassware and cups. The nicest thing about the unit is the cutlery tray which I thought would clean better however I've yet to have an unspotted load of cutlery.The drying of the dishes does not work well either.Always a ton of water left behind. If I have to hand wash dishes AFTER they come out of this thing something is seriously wrong ,especially at $2700.00. And it's not the money, I would gladly pay it if it worked like I would expect it to."
