Our Miele functions as advertised. It's a little temperamental however and you need to use correct soap, correct amount, and correct preparation of dishes.
Ours breaks on an annual basis. It take at least a week to get a repair-person with Miele experience and the cost always exceeds $250. We could have purchased several Samsungs for the repair cost alone.

Purchased the Miele Built In Dishwasher G2472SC when our ASKO dishwasher broke for the 4th time. This is an extremely well built unit that does exactly what its supposed to and is extremely quiet. Drawbacks - High initial price, control board is a nightmare and glass racks don't have a steep angle so water sits on top of the glasses when cycle is complete.

We bought this after we had gotten a Kitchenaid about 2 year earlier when they started coming out with the third rack. We needed a dishwasher that was extremely quiet. The Miele beats the Kitchenaid by a mile in terms of quietness and ability to clean. We use the ECOVER detergent, which is one of the milder detergents (no phosphates) and even with that the Miele does an excellent job. The best thing is that it takes cold water and does not need the water to be softened. We live where the water is very very hard. I wish washers also come with built in water softeners and heaters. That way we don't need to rely on heating and softening all water

Purchased 2 of these for new construction so they haven't yet been installed. Have had a Meile before and they are the best d/w on the market. I loved my last one and expect these to be as great.
