Xand83 Solid & Pretty
So, it's tough to find a good stove, at a decent price, with more industrial looks. Why do so many appliances these days look neutered? Completely uninspiring? I'm not saying this one is drop-dead gorgeous, but it didn't make we want to bang my head against the wall upon looking at it.
Had it for a little over 3 months at this point. Solid cooking. Love the convection. Love the warming drawer. Never thought I would use that, but I am a terribly timed cook and have used it *frequently*. And the looks are great.
For the dislikes, the only thing that frustrates me are the burner sizes & placement. Maybe this is common for a free standing range, but the back burners are too close to the control panel, so even my smallest pots won't fit centered on the burner. Grrr. Also, maybe a fault of the burners or my pans, but they never seem to be close to the same size. My medium pans are too small for the *big* burner ring, but too big for the smaller ring. Also frustrating.
Overall, very happy. Reading the other reviews, I just hope it lasts a good while! It's been solid and hasn't led me to think it's going to die any time soon. Hope so!

My old Maytag got hit with a power surge to the mother board last Labor day weekend so we needed a new one. It was 15 years old. I liked the looks of the Samsung better than the competition . The electrics work great , heats fast and has some nice features . However, the smooth top is horrible . If you spill ANYTHING on the smooth top while cooking, a wet rag for clean up won't cut it . Basically you need to use the polish for a smoothtop every time you use the stove.My old Maytag had a much better glass top and was bulletproof. I would not buy another Samsung range until they figure out how the Americans make theirs.

Let me start by saying before tonight, I would've rated this range with 4 stars. It looks great, it's easy to use, it's one of the only ovens with convection features in it's price range, and it's worked really well up until recently.
The last two weeks I've noticed it's taking a long time to preheat, and about twice as long to bake anything. I just hadn't made the service call yet to have someone come take a look at it. Well tonight we were baking a pork loin, and heard a loud POP, saw a flash of light in the oven, and it just stopped working. No power, no lights, nothing. We checked the circuit, there was no power surge. All of the other appliances on the circuit are fine. Thank goodness we purchased the extended protection plan, I would be soooo upset if I spent almost $1000 on an oven to have it go out after just a year. But still, it's a darn shame. When you spend that much on an appliance it should last A LOT longer than a year!!!!

A good value, rather starkly plain appearance, but even baking and great oven capacity with hidden heating element make this range just what I wanted
