How to Choose a Room Air Conditioner
Compared to large capacity central units, room air conditioners have several advantages. The initial cost of a room air conditioning unit is significantly lower than the cost of central air. Because room air conditioners are designed for cooling small spaces, operating costs are reduced. And, room air conditioners can provide personalized temperature and humidity controls that central systems cannot.
Calculating Cooling Capacity
Cooling capacity is the critical factor in properly selecting a room air conditioner. Cooling capacity is measured in British Thermal Units (BTUs) and typical models will range in capacity from 5,000 BTUs to 28,500 BTUs.
Choosing an undersized unit will overwork the unit and it will not cool properly. Choosing an oversized unit will cost more to buy and operate and it will not dehumidify properly.

Measure the length and width of the area to be cooled. Multiply the length by the width to determine square footage or square meters. I'm far more satisfied with this A.C. unit than the Friedrich I had in my living room. This Frigidaire A.C. is surprisingly quiet, quieter than the Friedrich, and powerful enough to cool my living room, kitchen and hallway with the aid of an exhaust window fan located in the back bedroom which pulls cold air down the length of the hallway.......nice!!!! The remote's LCD temp display/control feature is a first for me and I have to admit it's a little on the gimmicky side........but I still like it. The air direction louvers are oddly shaped but do an adequate job of directing airflow..........I've seen better. The LED indicators are bright enough from across the room but reading the indicator settings is virtually impossible unless you're close to the unit......close enough to change settings via the touch pad. The air ionizer is also a plus......nice feature!!!! The permanent washable filter saves me money and that's a good thing!!!! If I had to make this purchase again......I would......with confidence!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

I was guided to this product by Albert such an amazing sales person for AJ Madison. I was on a limited budget and I needed an AC in a hurry. He had to find something in stock and less expensive to meet my needs. He did it!
It cools tons it was easy to install as everything you need for this type of AC(-thru the wall) comes with it! You dont need a sleeve as its attached! It seems avg for noise-great white noise for sleeping! Albert made the experience tops and I will always shop with AJMadison because of him! Amazing patience Albert!-Laura from Chicagoland!

This unit installed easily and works very well. Almost no vibration noise from the compressor. Sleek front cover. I like it a lot, and thought the price was very reasonable.
