Rated 5 out of 5 Great stove for serious cooks!
For me it's an attractive stove for people who simply want to cook without the high tech features and it's reasonably priced.
Too often we get won over by extra unnecessary features that don't enhance the durability of an appliance. This has standard features, heats well and feels fairly sturdy.
For people who would prefer a more professional 36" stove but can't afford it just yet, this makes a perfect compromise. The cast iron grates won me over, because they reminded me of my grandmother's stove that has never needed the grates replaced, unlike many of the more modern stoves made with cheaper material. One grate feels like an 8 lb weight I could use while exercising plus there's plenty room for big pots.
Barring any manufacturer's defects, it's a great buy!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Aaron Very Good No Frills Stove For Price
Overall? Well... I kinda love this stove. There, I said it. :-)
Basically, I cook a lot. In fact I really enjoy cooking and have developed some skill at it, if I do say so myself. I'm the default cook of the house, coming into the marriage with more experience in that regard (although my wife cooks too and I enjoy her cooking). Given that, I know what I like and don't like in a range. You may have your own preferences, and that's cool. But here are mine:
First, I need enough room to cook on it--that's paramount. The last few apartments had tiny ranges and it was very difficult to cook anything that required more than one item on the stove top, or put very large items in the stove. This stove has plenty of room for me, which immediately made me happy using it.
Second, I can't stress enough how much BTUs matter--maximum and minimum. The front right burner kicks out a wonderful 12,000 BTUs, which is great for getting water to a quick boil or keeping up the high heat for searing meat. The rear right burner whispers out 5,000 BTUs, which I've used for gentle things like cream sauces or even re-fried beans. The left burners both deliver a respectable 9,500, which is more than enough for most of my cooking. Basically, this stove allows me to use the right heat for the job and I really, really appreciate that. You can make do with a few 8000 BTU burners--I did for a while--but it's like trying to paint a masterpiece with crayons: you can do it if you're creative and talented, but man would a nice spread of oil paints make it easier.
Besides those two things, it's just an attractive model. I really enjoy the very large window into the oven--something a lot of smaller units lack--and the ease of cleaning it. It doesn't come with a lot of bells and whistles and I know that might be a con for some, but that's perfectly fine for me. I want my stove to deliver good, consistent, easily controllable heat and that's about it. I don't need a self-cleaning cycle that I know I'd never use, so I didn't waste money on a stove that has one. And I don't need programmable temperature schedules or any of that because, really, I don't need my stove to cook for me. I understand that people who take a more functional approach to cooking or just have less time may want a stove that handles more for them, but I really enjoy the cooking process and I just need need my stove to supply the heat and otherwise stay out of my way. This stove does just that and was *very* reasonably priced, so I'd recommend it to anybody else looking for this.
